As police and security forces foiled terror attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi on Friday, a lady police officer received praises for setting an example of bravery.
Clifton’s Assistant Superintendent of Police Suhai Aziz Talpur was among the first police party to reach the Chinese Consulate upon reports of gunshots outside the building. She initially led the operation against the terrorists, successfully engaging them on the attack site.
“You have set an example of bravery,” Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said while praising her gallantry. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also praised ASP Suhai Aziz. “The reprehensible terrorist attack on Chinese consulate in Karachi was thwarted by courageous fight put up by our Sindh Police led by courageous ASP Suhai Aziz. I salute brave officers who were martyred courageously protecting our friends. We honour them,” he tweeted.
Meanwhile, Sindh Inspector General of Police Dr Kaleem Imam has recommended Suhai Aziz’s name for prestigious Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal.
