The Global Youth Clan (GYC), an organization from Pakistan, took the first delegation consisting of 9 participants to Russia for the 2nd Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) International Young Leaders Forum. The SCO is an international alliance consisting of eight member states and three observers from Eurasia. India and Pakistan became the newest members of SCO in 2017. The Forum works towards economic development, youth empowerment, cultural understanding and peace-building in the region.
The 2nd SCO Young Leaders Forum was held from September 19-23, 2018 at Khabarovsk Region, Russia. The event was organized by the Russian Union of Youth in collaboration with the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs to host more than 200 international participants at the Forum. The delegation of Global Youth Clan was led by the secretary general GYC Bilawal Ali. Furthermore, the delegates from GYC covered wide range of topics ranging from peace and entrepreneurship to cultural exchanges and folk music at the Forum. The Pakistani delegation also had a productive meeting with the head of Future Team Alexey Spivakoff regarding GYC’s future collaboration with the Future Team.
The chairman Global Youth Clan Tahir Khattak said, “We have started a new wave of youth-relations with Russia to promote inter cultural harmony between both the countries and the Russian youth will be visiting Pakistan next year on our invitation.”
