HYDERABAD: People from different walks of life including poets, writers, social activists and journalist on Friday launched a fund-raising campaign and collected half of the amount required for treatment of a teenager suffering from liver disease in Thar.
15-year-old Abdul Manan Rahimoon, suffering from liver problem requires somewhere around Rs8 million for treatment. To this end, activists and prominent personalities constituted a 6-member committee and launched a fund-raising campaign in different parts of Sindh to help the family in need.
Ex-provincial minister Dost Ali Rahimoon donated Rs1 lac and district chairman Noor Ali Shah donated Rs 25 thousand.
Renowned poet Haleem Baghi, Juman Darbdar, poet and writer Haji Saand and several others assured the family members of Manan that they will do their best to save the life of the 15-year-old.
Ex-MPA and PS-51 Umerkot candidate Syed Sardar Ali Shah donated 5 lac rupees.
Speaking to Daily Times, Manan’s uncle Sikiladho Rahimoon shared that the teenager is admitted in a private hospital of Hyderabad for the past 9 days and doctors have recommended to shift him to Islamabad as soon as possible.
He added that Manan’s father is tailor and the family income hardly earns bread and butter. “We are expecting that the drive which has been started by our fellows and colleagues will give Manan a new birth,” he said.
Renowned singers and artists have also decided to arrange a musical gathering to raise funds from music lovers to save Manan’s.
Rajab Faqeer, Rafique Faqeer, Reshma Parveen, Sanwal Faqeer and Sikandar Shafi Faqeer will perform spiritualism by songs to spread the message of humanity and philanthropy on July 7th at Jinnah Public Park Umerkot.
